
OLYMPIC ENDORSEMENT TEAM CHOSEN
In July 2007, Bank of China Limited, the official banking partner of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, signed a strategic endorsement agreement with the Chinese National Badminton Team. Head Coach Yongbo Yi and his athletes are endorsed as Bank of China Olympic Partner spokespersons. As the final countdown to the Beijing Olympic Games officially started on August 8, this will mark the beginning of a new era of Bank of China's commitment to support the Chinese sports development and national teams.
In China, badminton has been recognized as a national sport. For many years, Chinese badminton players have dominated major international tournaments including World Cup and Olympic games. To quote a few instances of their excellence in badminton, the Chinese Badminton Team is the only team who has won all 3 major badminton tournaments - Thomas Cup, Uber Cup and Sudirman Cup, and Chinese badminton players won 4 out of a total of 5 gold medals in 2000 Sydney Olympics. The undaunted character and daring effort of Chinese badminton athletes reflects the Olympic spirit of Swifter, Higher, Stronger, which also echoes Bank of China's effort in striving for prominence and innovation and pursuit of excellent service for its customers.

On July 14th, 2004, Bank of China won the bidding as the official banking partner of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
