Whether you have an account at Bank of China New York Branch or Chinatown Branch, you will be able to send money to your family and friends in China. In particular, we have Remittance By Mail service for those customers who cannot come to our branches in person to conduct remittance transactions. This service is simple, convenient and hassle-free!
If you currently maintains an account with us, just click on the Remittance Application Form by Mail for Account Customers, otherwise use Remittance Application Form by Mail for Non-Account Customers, then print out and complete the application form and send it with proper instructions and requested identification to: Bank of China 42 East Broadway New York, NY 10002
Upon receipt of the proper instructions and identification we will remit the funds on your behalf and notify you upon completion of the transaction. Please ensure that you have read and fully understood the conditions governing our remittance transfer services. These conditions are:
1. Bank of China - Chinatown Branch (hereinafter called "The Bank") herein acting as a remitting bank will effect the remittance as requested in the normal course of business without responsibility on its part for any loss that may arise in consequence of errors or delays in the transmission of the relevant message by telegraph, wireless cable companies, or by mail or courier services, or for the acts or omissions of any of its correspondents or agents, or for any other cause beyond its control.
2. Any request for amendment or cancellation must be made by the applicant (remitter) in person upon production of proper identifying documents, and refunds can only be made by the Bank upon receipt of its correspondent’s effective confirmation of the cancellation.
3. The Bank is entitled to reimbursement from the applicant (remitter) for the expenses of the Bank, its correspondent and agents.
Effective September 1, 2002, the Remittance By Mail service for non-account customers is limited up to $2,999 daily. The destination of the remittance is limited to China, Hong Kong and Macau SAR, or to the accounts at other Bank of China overseas branches. Bank of China reserves the right to verify the information, and to decline if found false, to process the remittance application and return the money to the remitter.
We accept money orders, personal checks, and official bank checks. Drawers of these type of checks must match the remitter.
