2022 China-U.S. Financial Cooperation Webinar
NewsBank of China U.S.A.’s (BOCUSA) New York Branch recently hosted its virtual “China-U.S. Financial Cooperation Webinar” for the fifth consecutive year. Over 150 representatives from almost 30 commercial banks, policy banks, exchanges, insurance companies and asset managers in the Greater China region, as well as representatives from Bank of China’s Head Office, Shanghai Headquarters, New York and other overseas branches and affiliates, participated in the event.

In 2022, Bank of China celebrated its 110th anniversary as well as the 41st anniversary of the reopening of the New York Branch. During the webinar, EVP Raymond Qiao gave a general overview of business operations and risk management aspects of BOCUSA. He also spoke about the opportunities and challenges facing the business given the current market, economic and geopolitical conditions, as well as the impacts stemming from the pandemic. This year’s webinar was enriched by keynote speakers who shared their unique expertise on topics covering the U.S. macroeconomic and political environment, banking industry developments, reputational and strategic risk management factors and recent regulatory and compliance policy updates. Product managers from our Global Markets and Trade Services departments introduced BOCUSA’s products and services available for Fixed Income clients in the U.S. and the Greater China Region. For three hours, participants shared best practices and carried out extensive discussions on topics of common interest.

The general feedback from the participants was quite positive, and the webinar further deepened the group’s understanding of critical issues and Bank of China’s tailored approach to resolving challenges for our clients and partners with confidence and efficiency. As travel between the U.S. and China remains restricted, the webinar provided an excellent opportunity for attendees to communicate regarding the many business opportunities that exist between our countries. BOCUSA looks forward to hosting more events in the future as we further enhance our services by providing additional key insights and market information to our clients, while deepening business cooperation between the U.S. and China.
