2023 China-U.S. Financial Cooperation Seminars

News

In August, Bank of China New York Branch hosted the 2023 “China-U.S. Financial Cooperation Seminar” in Beijing and Shanghai. Over 90 representatives from nearly 50 policy banks, commercial banks, exchanges, insurance companies, and asset managers in the Greater China region, as well as representatives from Bank of China’s Head Office, Shanghai Headquarters, and New York Branch, attended the events in person.

This is the sixth consecutive year that Bank of China New York Branch has hosted its “China-U.S. Financial Cooperation Seminar”. It is the first in-person Bank of China U.S.A. event after the global pandemic. EVP Raymond Qiao provided an overview of the business operations, and risk management and compliance management experience of BOC U.S.A. at the opening speech. He also spoke about the numerous challenges and opportunities in the current economic, market, and geopolitical environment.

This year’s seminar focused on topics covering the U.S. macroeconomic and banking industry developments, economic and trade cooperation between China and the U.S., U.S. anti-money laundering, and sanctions compliance requirements.  Product managers from the Global Markets and Trade Services departments introduced BOC U.S.A.’s products and services for financial institution clients in the U.S. and the Greater China region. Participants carried out extensive discussions regarding best practices and other related open topics of common interest as well.

The seminar provided a unique opportunity for sharing BOCUSA’s risk management expertise and strategic communication in regard to critical issues and business opportunities. Bank of China New York Branch looks forward to hosting more events in the future as well as providing additional market insights and information to our clients while deepening business cooperation between the U.S. and China.
