Bank of China Celebrates New York’s Dragon Boat Festival and Race
NewsOn August 9th and 10th, the 35th Annual New York Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival was held at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens. This cultural celebration is renowned for its vibrancy and cultural diversity, and ranks among the largest events in the New York summer. This year, the festival featured over 2,000 athletes and attracted more than 40,000 spectators to enjoy this vibrant blend of sport and cultural celebration. For the third consecutive year, Bank of China’s New York Branch proudly sponsored the festivities, leveraging its capabilities and strengths as an international financial institution.
The Bank of China Dragon Boat Team competed in the corporate invitational race, with President Hu Wei and other branch leaders attending the event alongside branch staff and their families to cheer the teams on. The dragon boat team, composed of employees from various departments, trained extensively in preparation for the event, and achieved excellent results on race day.
The New York Branch hosted a booth staffed by employees from across departments, who provided cross-border financial consultations and guidance on payment facilitation. The booth also offered interactive activities, such as a prize wheel, beanbag toss, and ring toss, with exciting prizes that attracted participation from more than 3,000 people.
Following the event, the New York Branch and Queens Branch once again held a picnic for employees and their families, helping strengthen relationships and deepen community ties. Employees and their families spent quality time together, cheering on the races, enjoying delicious food and playing fun games. Through participation in this long-running multicultural celebration, Bank of China USA reaffirms its commitment to local engagement, serving the community, and fostering multicultural integration.
