Bank of China Los Angeles Branch Wins “Community Excellence Award of the Year,” Highlighting Community Contributions

The China General Chamber of Commerce Los Angeles (CGCC-LA) recently hosted its 2025 Annual Gala at the Sheraton San Gabriel Hotel in Los Angeles. The event celebrated Sino-American business cooperation and examined the prospects for additional economic and trade investments and economic development. Over 340 attendees from various sectors of both China and the U.S. participated in the event, including Ambassador Guo Shaochun, Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Los Angeles, Ye Chun, President of The China General Chamber of Commerce Los Angeles (CGCC-LA), Mario Cordero, CEO of the Port of Long Beach, and Bob Weis, former President of Walt Disney Imagineering, among others.

 

During the gala, Bank of China was awarded the "Community Excellence Award of the Year." This award recognizes corporate members that actively support the Chamber's charitable efforts in Los Angeles, contribute to the local community, and promote corporate social responsibility.

 

As an executive member of The China General Chamber of Commerce Los Angeles (CGCC-LA), the Bank of China Los Angeles Branch actively participated in and sponsored the preparation and organization of the event. Representatives from the Bank of China Los Angeles Branch, along with other executive members, engaged in enlightening discussions with various guests to explore new opportunities for Sino-American economic and trade cooperation.

 

In his keynote speech, Consul General Guo Shaochun reviewed the remarkable achievements in bilateral trade over the 46 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the U.S. He emphasized the mutually beneficial nature of Sino-American trade, which plays a crucial role in the economic development of both countries and the global economy. He pointed out that as two major global economies, China and the U.S. should adhere to the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and committed cooperation by properly handling differences and promoting the healthy and stable development of bilateral relations.

 

The Bank of China Los Angeles Branch has always been committed to fulfilling its corporate social responsibility, actively participating in local community charity events. Over the past year, it has supported and co-organized multiple visits and economic and trade forums for Chinese local delegations in California, participated in local community Food Bank volunteer activities, and made donations to communities affected by the Los Angeles wildfires. The Bank of China Los Angeles Branch is honored to receive this award as recognition of its positive contributions to serving the community and promoting Sino-American economic and trade cooperation and looks forward to continuing its work.
