On February 11th, 2025, the China General Chamber of Commerce – USA (CGCC) celebrated its 20th Anniversary at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York, with Bank of China USA as the proud lead sponsor. The gala brought together leaders from business and trade to commemorate the milestone theme of “Building Connections and Creating Opportunities,” a reflection of the two decades of collaborative success between U.S. and Chinese businesses.

Wei Hu, CEO and President of Bank of China USA and Chairman of CGCC, delivered opening remarks that highlighted the vital role of CGCC in fostering U.S.-China trade relations and creating lasting opportunities. “Our commitment to building economic bridges and strengthening bilateral cooperation has been unwavering,” said Mr. Hu. Furthermore, Chinese Ambassador to the U.S. Xie Feng delivered a speech expressing optimism and confidence in the bilateral relationship, urging Chinese businesses in the U.S. to “build more bridges for bilateral economic cooperation.”

The evening also showcased remarks from several other prominent business leaders, policymakers and cultural icons including Marc Holliday, Chairman and CEO of SL Green Realty; Michael Bloomberg, Founder of Bloomberg LP; Jim Reynolds Jr., Founder, Chairman and CEO of Loop Capital, and English footballer David Beckham. These contributions underscored the collective efforts of companies that have helped shape U.S.-China economic ties. Mr. Reynolds, a notable presence on Wall Street who brings practical and innovative solutions to every challenge, and an ardent supporter of U.S.-China business engagement, noted “In these times, it is critical that CGCC continue its efforts to bring Chinese businesses together with their U.S. counterparts. There are great benefits to be had in doing business together, creating opportunities, job growth and economic vibrancy.”

The event featured the “Twenty for Twenty” Recognition Ceremony, which celebrated the vital role Chinese companies have played in driving U.S. economic growth, job creation, and investment over the past few decades. By honoring those leading the way, the ceremony recognized the efforts of these companies, including Bank of China USA, in strengthening business ties between the two largest economies.

Among those recognized were companies across virtually every business sector, emphasizing the importance of mutual growth and exchange in trade, investment, and innovation.

At Bank of China USA, we continue to prioritize fostering deep relationships and expanding business opportunities across borders. As the U.S.-China economic partnership evolves, we remain committed to strengthening these connections, driving sustainable growth, and creating pathways for continued success for both nations.
