BOC Learning Institute New York Launched Fourth Session of “2023 Online Training Series on Global Banking Trends” – Inclusive Finance for Business Growth

News

To further enhance Bank of China Group’s commitment toward inclusive financial services and the sharing of international best practices in small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) banking, BOC Learning Institute New York successfully conducted its fourth session of the "2023 Online Training Series on Global Banking Trends" on September 18th. This session, titled "Inclusive Finance for Business Growth," represented a collaborative effort between BOC Learning Institute New York and Euromoney Learning, featuring instructor Duncan Hughes, a seasoned financial lecturer and trainer with over 30 years of experience in commercial and investment banking.

Throughout the course, participants examined the reasons behind the historical exclusion of certain corporate sectors from accessing financial resources. These exclusions were analyzed in the context of regulatory requirements and distinctive characteristics of SMEs. The training also introduced the diverse financing needs of SMEs through various stages of their development. The central focus of the training revolved around how commercial banks can employ new strategies and resources to construct more inclusive financial systems, underpinned by Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles that BOC USA remains committed to upholding. The session provided valuable insights through real-world case studies, highlighting the SME services of Starling Bank and Barclays Bank. Impressively, the live training session featured participation from more than 250 colleagues across Bank of China Group.

We are excited to announce that the final training session of the year, "Model Risk Management", will be scheduled over the upcoming months. We encourage you to stay tuned for further details and updates.
