Bank of China New York Branch and Bank of China Queens Branch are Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) members and offer the following deposit products covered by Federal deposit insurance[1]:

  • Checking accounts;
  • Savings accounts;
  • Negotiable order of withdrawal (NOW) accounts;
  • Money market savings accounts (MMSAs);  
  • Certificates of deposit (CD) and other time deposits; 
  • Individual retirement accounts (IRAs); and
  • Cashier’s checks and money orders issued by a bank.

 

Deposit products offered by Bank of China Los Angeles Branch and Bank of China Chicago Branch are not covered by Federal deposit insurance.  Other than the deposit products listed above, no other products or services offered or provided by the Bank of China New York, Queens, Los Angeles or Chicago Branches are covered by Federal deposit insurance. 

  1.    Federal deposit insurance covers depositors' accounts at each insured bank, dollar-for-dollar, including principal and any accrued interest through the date of the insured bank's closing, up to the insurance limit. The standard insurance amount is $250,000 per person, per bank, per ownership category.
