Notice of Financial Relief Program during COVID-19

News

Dear Customers,

Here at Bank of China U.S.A. we pride ourselves on our longstanding history of caring for the people and communities in which we operate. Like you, we continue to watch the news related to COVID-19 and its impact in the U.S. and around the world.  As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve, we are evaluating measures to provide support, and offer assistance to our impacted customers in the U.S. As new developments emerge, we will share information with you about how we plan to safely, and effectively continue assisting you.

1. Our retail customers impacted by COVID-19 may be eligible for fee waiver assistance of some services appearing on their March, April and May statements. We take this opportunity to inform you that we waived the March Account Maintenance fee to all our retail customers; and remind you that, if you are in need for cash, you can access other banks’ ATMs, and we will refund limited fees billed by other banks to your account.

2. We are also providing assistance programs for eligible customers, including collection forbearance programs (e.g. residential mortgage). Since these programs are assessed on a need basis, kindly consult with your banker for eligibility. Such assistance may include:

  • Payment Deferrals
  • Fee Waivers
  • Extension/Modification of Repayment Terms

We are committed to supporting you during this difficult time and as always appreciate your loyalty as a valued customer. If you have been impacted by COVID-19 and would like to discuss your available options, please contact customer service at 212-935-3101 or 212-923-2355. You can also email us at [email protected] with any questions and we will have the appropriate employee contact you. Please be advised that if you are unable to make payments due to financial hardship resulting from COVID-19, failure to contact the bank in a timely manner could result in the unnecessary designation of your account as past due or delinquent.

Again, we want to assure you that we will continue to assess the situation on a daily basis to determine extension or expansion of available assistance. We are committed to standing with you during these challenging times by continuing to meet your financial needs with the same level of efficiency and quality you have been receiving from us over the past 40 years here in the U.S.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding. From all of us here at Bank of China, we hope you and your love ones remain safe and healthy.
