In August, Bank of China New York Branch hosted the 2024 “China-U.S. Financial Cooperation Seminar” in Beijing and Shanghai. Over 130 representatives from nearly 40 banks and insurance companies across Greater China, along with delegates from Bank of China’s Head Office, Shanghai Headquarters, New York Branch and affiliates, participated in the events.
On August 3rd, the 32nd New York Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival took place at Meadows Corona Park in Flushing, Queens. For the second year in a row, Bank of China’s New York Branch supported the Dragon Boat Festival, sending two employee teams to compete. President Hu Wei and other branch leaders attended the event, cheering on the teams alongside employees and their families.
On June 13, 2024, Bank of China Limited, New York Branch (“BOC New York Branch”), successfully priced CNH 1 billion 2-year and CNH 2 billion 3-year dual-tranche fixed-rate Reg S senior unsecured notes as part of Bank of China Limited’s USD 40 billion MTN Program. This landmark transaction marks BOC New York Branch’s return to the CNH market since 2016 and it’s first-ever dual-tranche CNH notes issuance.
On June 24, 2024, the China General Chamber of Commerce-USA (CGCC) Annual Members Meeting was successfully held in Washington, D.C. During the meeting, the general election of the Chairman, Vice Chairs, and Board of Directors of the CGCC was conducted. Bank of China U.S.A. was re-elected as the leading enterprise of CGCC, and Mr. Wei Hu, CEO of Bank of China U.S.A., was re-elected as the Chairman of CGCC.
On May 14, 2024, the highly anticipated results of the 2024 “Best RMB Bank Globally” award were revealed by The Asset Triple A Treasurise Awards Committee, during its Annual Awards Dinner Gala in Hong Kong. Bank of China Group made history as it was honored as the “Best RMB Bank Globally” for the very first time, against a fierce lineup of contenders.
On May 20, BOC U.S.A hosted the signing ceremony of the MOU between Shanghai General Chamber of Commerce and the China General Chamber of Commerce-USA (CGCC-USA).
The 2024 China-California Business Forum was held at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles on May 20.
On the afternoon of May 22, the 136th Canton Fair New York promotion conference was held at the Bank of China New York Branch. Mr. Huang Ping, Consul General of the Consulate General of China in New York, Mr. Chu Shijia, Chairman of the Board and President of China Foreign Trade Centre Group Ltd, Mr. Hu Wei, Chairman of China General Chamber of Commerce USA and President of Bank of China USA, Abraham Merchant, the President of Merchants Hospitality, Kevin Kuehl, the senior vice president of Big Lots, and Kate Sullivan, the executive director of Greater Columbus Chinese Chamber of Commerce, attended and addressed at the event. Over 120 people, including heads of US enterprises, business associations, trade and investment promotion agencies, and media representatives, attended the event.
On May 8, BOC U.S.A. hosted the promotional conference for the 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) and Hongqiao International Economic Forum.
